This memorable wedding took place on a beautiful day at a lovely farm on the Big Island of Hawaii. The couple got ready in two different locations near the venue, so I stopped by the groom’s locations to take some photos of the groom. After this, I went to the bride’s location to take some photos of her getting ready as well.

Once the getting ready photos were done, I headed over to the venue to take photos of the scenery and other detail shots of the decorations. I’m so glad that the weather was slightly cloudy and not raining or too sunny. Personally, I think a slightly cloudy day makes for amazing shots with natural lighting, which is important for an outdoor ceremony.
At this time, I got the heads up that the bride was on her way! So I got into position and photographed as much as I could throughout the ceremony. I am so thankful that this bride had made little packets of rose petals for the audience to throw as they walked back down during the recessional. This is easily one of my favorite photos of the day!

After the ceremony, we took the family portraits near where the couple said their vows. I personally try to crank this out as quickly as possible to save the majority of the time for the bride and groom’s portraits. This took about 15 minutes which is a good amount of time in my opinion.
Once this was done, we took the bridal party photos. I always try to keep this as light hearted as possible to keep things fun and get genuine smiles out of everyone. This took about 20 minutes, which for me, is about as long as I like to take for the bridal party.

And now we get to my favorite part of the day! Since everything went according to plan timing wise, this left us an hour to take the bride and groom portraits. I always try to keep everyone on schedule early on so that the couple can feel relaxed and at ease when it comes to the most important photos of the day. Well, most important to the photographer at least.

We were able to walk around the venue and get photos at a few different locations. We tried out lots of different styles with a variety of emotions, ranging from fun, serious, intimate, and romantic. After about an hour, I felt that we got a good amount of photos that the couple would be happy with, so we headed to the reception area.

The reception was in a fairly small and intimate setting, so I didn’t have to worry too much about not being able to capture the important moments. I also want to mention that I also recorded a lot of video throughout the day to provide both photos and an instagram video recap of the wedding.
This was one of my favorite weddings to shoot and I enjoyed my time with the beautiful wedding couple. I wish them the happiest of marriages and I’m excited to edit the rest of these photos!
